Rainbow eye

The first step to this is primer! Primer is a must for this look, it really makes the colors POP! I used my 120 color palette for this look. Start in the inner corner with RED. next to that Orange, then yellow, green, and blue. Then take your fluffy blending brush and blend them together. I choose a shimmery nude for my brow highlight here. I felt a white would have taken away from the colors. If you are feel extra adventurous, You can repeat the pattern under your lower lashes, like liner. Apply your eyeliner and mascara and there you go. I recommend going easy on the rest of the face because something as bright as this is a little overwhelming paired with heavy blush and lips. I personally used a light pink blush and a sheer pink gloss.

Urban Decay book of shadows IV review

I got an amazing deal on this! You can too! It is on sale for $29 on Urbandecay.com. It was originally like $65. I am highly impressed with this! The shadow colors are all very wearable and pigmented. It also comes with 24/7 liquid liner, Mascara, and eyeshadow primer potion. If you have never used primer before, you HAVE to buy some and try it out. It really brings out the colors of all shadows, keeps it from creasing, and majorly improves the staying power. This palette has a large mirror. If you're running late you can toss this in your purse and have all of your eye products at your finger tips! Get one before they are gone!

Satin Smooth waxing starter kit review

A few weeks back I bought a Satin Smooth waxing starter kit from Folica.com. I wasn't how much I was going to like it. I have used it about 4 times now and let me just say, I LOVE it!! It works so well! I recently found out it is a smaller version of the one the use at Benefit brow bars. At least they do at my local ULTA. It comes with the Warmer, wax, strips, sticks, lotion, wax removing oil, skin cleanser, and aloe gel.

It is as simple as can be.
  • Step one: Turn on the warmer to let it get the wax ready. I let it warm for at least an hour. But it is ready before that. I use it a few notches below medium for my brows. (mix it a few times while warming)
  • Step two: Prep your skin. Use the cleanser provided or your personal favorite, to remove makeup, oil, and sweat.
  • Step three: Get a small amount of wax on the stick and smooth it on in the direction of the hair.
  • Step four: Apply the strip and allow it to cool.
  • Step five: Pull you skin tight and rip off the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth. (repeat)
  • Step six: Use oil to remove wax residue.
  • Step seven: Apply lotion or aloe to sooth skin if needed.
  • Step eight: CLEAN UP (Turn off the warmer!!)  =)
  • Step nine: Touch up your brows with tweezers if needed
  • Step ten: Look fab!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM! =)

Living the life I am meant to live

I read something a Youtube friend wrote and it got me really thinking.
Back in August 2010 Skyler and I decided to we needed to start going to Church. We were doing really well. Going like we should, The kids and I got baptized. I started to have the relationship I wanted to have with God. The last year has really changed that. Life changed so much, bad things started coming out and we worked through it. But it opened up old wounds for me. I noticed I became more bitter and angry again. I started becoming who I used to be, the person I don't want to be.
After realizing this I took a step back. I am still stepping back and reevaluating my life and who I want to be. I know I no longer want to be angry, sad, bitter, mean, foul mouthed, negative, and lazy. I want to be happy. I want to be positive, a role model, a good Mom, a good Wife, I want to be the person God wants me to be. I need to find who I am meant to be. This is only day one and it has been so hard to step back, count to 10 and pray for patients. I have caught myself a few times and stopped myself. The thing is this my kids and Skyler have also been living this sad negative life. The first step was to get Skyler on board. I was so scared for some reason. But I found out he agreed with me, He thinks we need to change too. So now we need to work with our kids and basically reteach them about life and how to act. They are good kids who have had bad guidance.
This next year is going to change us a lot. We have so much that we need to work on but I am committed to this. Be the change you want to see. We also need to learn to manage our Money better. So yeah. This is going to be hard to break old habits and learn new ones on top of teaching news ones. But I know I have my Husband behind me and he is on board. Together we can conquer this. The Dowdy fab five are on a mission!
Before you judge people for being happy, think. They aren't being fake, they are being positive. Don't be down on them for that. They are still people. THEY DO HAVE PROBLEMS IN LIFE, they are just choosing to focus on the positive. Do you know how hard that is? It isn't easy! You have a bad day, what do you want to do? VENT! But positive people find that one thing in there day that made them happy. Maybe they had an awesome taco, or saw a beautiful rainbow, of their husband picked up his own socks. They choose to focus on that thing. They may have had a horrible day, but hey! They are alive! That is where I want to be in life. I have called these people fake myself. But I never sopped to think about it. Unless they say everything in my life is always perfect 24/7 I never have any problems or worries, they aren't being fake! They are being positive. God wants me positive and thankful. From here on out, that is what I vow to do.

Introduction

Hello! Welcome to my Blog. It is not officially published yet. I am working on getting a URL and getting the layout just right. But, I figured I would start writing anyway so when I start pimping out my link, there will be something to read.
I have always been really into make-up and beauty. But recently I kind of took it to the level of obsession. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However it got me thinking! You can have a beautiful face, but does it really matter if you have an ugly soul?
All of the beauty products in the world won't make you an attractive person if you don't have a beautiful soul. What does that mean? Having a beautiful soul means a lot of different things to different people. Here is a list of inner beauty qualities I find important.

  • Confidence! The ability to be comfortable in your own skin isn't easy, but once you master that, I think you will be able to find true happiness.
  • Selflessness. The ability to put others before yourself is amazing. We are born selfish creatures, only knowing what we need and figuring out a way to get it. Overcoming that is a bit easier but a beautiful quality none the less.
  • HUMOR! I think it is really important to laugh and not take things to seriously.
  • The ability to feel empathetic and sympathetic.
There is so much more! But you get the hint.

So this blog is going to be combining both inner and outer beauty posts! I hope you all enjoy!
